What the heck is this?
We are just getting going, but we are getting going! The idea here is to create a community of folks interested in helping themselves and others find only the best quality content on the web… it’s simple in principle, but a little harder in practice.

CommunityCurated works by allowing everyone to rate any pieces of content on the web: Either Quality, Noise or commercial. If you rate a piece of content you will always have access to the rating under “My Curations” so it also acts as simple bookmarking system for yourself, so you’ll never loose that resource that you liked… But on top of that - everyone else gets to see your rating when they stumble across that piece of content… So others can quickly gauge whether or not to trust a piece of content.

Highly rated pieces of content will also be curated to the website, allowing users to quickly see all the best content on a topic.

Why are you building this?
We believe that the majority of the information on the internet that is most widely distributed (ie: gets seen by people) is more less a lie, or in optimistic terms - largely influenced by comercial interest. It make sense, companies have to make profits and its not always going to be in there best interest to tell you the full truth – that is fine, but we are looking to get to the bottom of things, and believe others want get to the bottom of things too.

How do I get involved / join the community?
We would love for you to join the community. It’s quick and easy, you will just need to register a new account here, and then download the CommunityCurated browser extension here to get started. Once you have the browser extension you can start creating new topics and adding curations.

Note: We still only have a few community members so topics are a little sparse right now, but this will grow and hopefully you can help with that. As the topic creator you will be “in charge” of managing that topic as it grows.
